Construction is underway at 206 E Marshall Street for our first home project in the city of Elkhorn. The basement walls have been poured, and we will soon start hammering some nails.
Mission Statement
Habitat for Humanity in Walworth County, Inc (HFHWC) was formed in October 1998 as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. We build with people in need regardless of race or religion. We welcome volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds.
HFHWC works in partnership with people from all walks of life to develop in Walworth County decent homes and communities in which people can live and grow. Habitat builds new relationships and a sense of community as well as new housing.
Home owners are required to invest "sweat equity" hours into the construction of a home. Through volunteer labor and tax-deductible donations of money and materials, homes are built or renovated and sold at no profit with no-interest mortgages to partner families. HFHWC follows all local, state and national guidelines and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, age, sex, disability, or familial status.
